In a first for the magazine, New York hires Olivia Nuzzi as a Washington correspondent who will cover Congress and the Trump administration. “Olivia is a dogged reporter and stylish writer who distinguished herself covering the Trump campaign,” said editor in chief Adam Moss in a statement. “For obvious reasons, we have come to feel it’s important to have a reporter on the ground in D.C.; Olivia will bolster our coverage in significant ways.”
On the digital side, Nuzzi will contribute to Daily Intelligencer and will also write features for the print magazine.
She comes over from the Daily Beast, where she had been a politics reporter, putting in the hours and miles on the Trump campaign beat. She had freelanced prior to joining the Daily Beast, writing for publications like Politico and, in a bit of foreshadowing, New York magazine.
