A 25-year-veteran in D.C. media, Elizabeth Becker is walking away from the NYT newsroom. While most recently covering trade, Becker has worked the agriculture and Pentagon beats for the Times.
She came to the Old Gray Lady from NPR where she was senior foreign editor, building on her experience in Cambodia as the Post’s war correspondent.
In a brief email to friends and colleagues she stated:
After many wonderful years of reporting, I have decided to leave daily journalism and the New York Times to write books, enjoy my family and to travel. It has been a pleasure working with all of you. Please stay in touch.
All bests, Elizabeth Becker
It might be worth noting here, as the unofficial end of August hits today, that the Post reported on Wednesday that more Americans quit their jobs in August than any other month.
