Next month, another New York winter Fashion Week will be upon us. With a delightful Kentucky twist.
Per a recent report in the Shelbyville Sentinel News, when C. Rinella Designs showcases its wares, Heaven Redmon, 13, will be among the models, sporting a couture gown. And when designer Raelynn Nichols does her Fashion Week thing as part of the same overall show, Heaven’s 11-year-old brother Lucas Sherrard will be in the mix, wearing some hip-hop-style clothing:
“Heaven has been modeling for about a year and a half now,” explains mom Tiffany. “She was introduced to some designers and photographers through the pageant world and she’s been competing for three years. She’s won numerous titles all throughout Kentucky, and she’s actually won several national titles. She was introduced to a woman who lines up different photographers for girls and boys all across the world and tries to help these young models start their careers.”
In the article, Heather shares some solid, common-sense advice for Lucas, which she will no doubt repeat to him just before the Fashion Week event. The Feb. 15 show the two are taking part in will raise money and awareness for Sherrie Gearhart’s suicide awareness organization Live Out Loud Charity. From the non-profit’s About us page:
Gearheart established the organization one year after losing her childhood friend to suicide. He was only 19 years of age. Since 2010, LOLC has reached over 80 million individuals around the world educating people on the signs of suicide and how to stop this preventable cause of death. Every year LOLC holds an annual fashion show which showcases all sizes, heights, ages and ethnicities. It is truly about promoting self-esteem and self-love.
