One thing that has kept me from beleiving the iPad Mini will launch soon is the shortage of leak components. We’ve seen a dozen or more leaks for the new iPhone but hardly anything for the iPad Mini (cases not withstanding).
Until now. NoWhereElse has turned up a cable sub-assembly for what might be the iPad Mini.
As you can see in the image at right, the cable has both what looks like a docking port, home button, as well as the headphone jack which past rumors have led us to expect. While there’s no real way to prove that this is the real deal, it does look an awful lot like Apple’s past leaked components.
Now, the second cable in the image is reportedly from the new iPhone. It has the same size docking port, and that makes me feel like there’s a greater chance that both are real. And it’s not like this hasn’t happened before; many parts (including cable assemblies) for Apple’s previous devices have shown up on blogs before. Apple tends to leak – a lot – as the release dates get closer. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a complete set of parts for the ipad Mini show up online long before it is ever announced.
