MySpace envy? NBC buys its own online village

In the wake of Newscorp’s acquisition of MySpace, NBC Universal has ponied up $600 million to buy iVillage, the popular female-oriented web community.

So: Fox goes for the kids, NBC for the women. I expect CBS will follow suit and purchase an internet company that reaches its demographic- maybe seniors-site.com.
