Seriously? 64 percent of college students are “confident that they will be able to start their careers in whatever area they choose” according to a recently released survey and CollegeRecruiter.com? Are all these students studying engineering and nursing?
Only 25% of the 1,000 students surveyed in February 2008 (ah, of course!) said that it doesn’t make sense to start their career now because the economy is in such bad shape. That means 75% of them are raring to go. And some of them are actually doing OK: 44 percent of business majors had secured their summer internships by March 2008.
How would these numbers look a year later, we wonder?
