According to various published reports, Monster.com founder Andrew McKelvey was found dead on Nov. 27 in his New York home. McKelvey, 74, had suffered from pancreatic cancer.
In the late 1960s McKelvey founded Telephone Marketing Program, a yellow pages ad company that eventually became TMP Worldwide. According to the Associated Press, that company went on to acquire The Monster Board and Online Career Center in 1995, eventually founding the popular Internet job hunting hub Monster.com in 1999.
McKelvey served as Monster’s CEO until 2006, when he left the company amid a scandal over backdated stock options.
