Since we work in media and can’t afford anything, we love freebies. But sometimes, promoters and marketers go overboard (Sporting News, anyone?) We’ve taken it upon ourselves to point out these gratuitous displays of cash-wasting in what we’re dubbing the Media Money Pit.
Our first official example comes today from TV Guide. After the jump, see what happens when you pull the tab. We promise, the prize is even less exciting than we make it sound.
While you marvel at the exorbitant amount of promo cash it took to UPS this marketing marvel to media folk across the land, we’ll be busy deleting the promo content from the jump drive in hopes of rendering this pricey freebie useable.
