Kobo Is Using Facebook Timeline App To Find Readers

Since launching their timeline app in January, digital reading platform Kobo has seen its traffic from Facebook grow by more than 50 percent. In addition, the company is reporting that a 90 percent increase in daily registrations.

Kobo used Open Graph, which lets developers turn a web page into a rich object in a social graph, to implement the timeline.

Kobo developer Bryant Lee explained the implementation process in a Facebook Developers blog post. He wrote: “Kobo defined Open Graph actions for some of the most conversational aspects of reading a book – such as beginning and finishing a book – to encourage sharing and stimulate discussions with friends. Kobo
