Forget about Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) no longer being a member of Congress. Journalists covering him can get elated that the story is not dying anytime soon. The House has voted for the Ethics Committee to open a new investigation.
As one D.C. political journalist remarked, “Journos and snorkeling aficionados now have one thing in common: The Massa story.”
Another scribe on Capitol Hill surmised, “I think there’s a sense that the Massa story is a nice little diversion right before some seriously hard work, and some seriously long nights, on the health care end game.”
