Joe Brown Named Popular Science's Editor in Chief

A homecoming.

Joe Brown has rejoined Popular Science, this time as its editor in chief. Brown most recently served as Wired’s executive editor.

Prior to his time with Wired, Brown served as Gizmodo’s editor in chief and for PopSci as an associate editor from 2002 to 2005.

“We are thrilled to welcome Joe back to Popular Science,” said Bonnier Corp’s lifestyle group vp and publishing director, Gregory Gatto, in a statement. “He has exactly the qualities we sought out for the leader of the brand: a nose for a great story, strong leadership, and a wealth of experience elegantly handling website strategy and digital operations.”

Brown will join PopSci Sept. 12.
