Looks like superpundits James Carville and Mary Matalin have some competition for the new face of bipartisanship with the likes of John Avlon and Margaret Hoover. Or maybe this could just be the start of a new reality TV series, “The Battle of Bipartisan Coupling.” As we’ve reported, CNN has tried them out in a pilot — who knows if they’ll get a gig.
Either way, the political-duo seemed at home in the hometown of Carville and Matalin for the Bipartisan Policy Center’s 4th Annual Political Summit last night in New Orleans. The annual event… will feature speakers such as CNN regular contributor, Maria Cardona, 24-hour news cycle pundit Kiki McLean, Facebook’s Katie Harbath, MSNBC “Morning Joe” regular John Heilemann, Twitter’s Adam Sharp, John Stanton, MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart, and a host of past politicos, political pundits and pollsters from both sides of the aisle such as Whit Ayres, Stan Greenberg, Ron Elving, Sec. Dan Glickman, former Sen. Trent Lott, and Gov. Ted Strickland.
The purpose of the conference is to analyze the 2012 election and the next congressional agenda. The event is capped off annually with an event at the Carville-Matalin home, which we hear will host a week of Super Bowl parties as the big event is in NOLA this February. No word yet if this roster of politicos gave the (4-5) New Orleans Saints any advice while they were in town.
