Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton with Daily Beast Editor Tina Brown on the red carpet Friday evening.

Stars, journalists, and politicians came together Friday night to celebrate the inaugural Women in the World Summit, an event designed to celebrate the achievements of high-powered women. Daily Beast editor Tina Brown — who co-hosted the event with the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, the UN Foundation and Vital Voices — drew some heavy hitters to Friday’s performance of “Seven,” a play about the contributions of seven women from around the world.

In attendance were CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour, “The View” host Barbara Walters, Bryan Batt of “Mad Men,” designer Donna Karan and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
