Google Docs Updated for the Android Tablet

Google released a new version of Google Docs for Android today. The new app has been redesigned to work better on tablets of all sizes, but most especially it now has new features just for Honeycomb tablets, such as a new 3-panel design on the home screen.

The update also makes it easier to edit docs as well as share with your tablet’s contact list.  The update provides plenty of stability improvements and bug fixes as usual, as well as adding some video playback improvements too. Here’s the full list:

  • Optimized experience for tablet users, Honeycomb (Android 3.0+)
  • New 3-panel interface for improved browsing
  • Details panel showing a thumbnail and sharing information
  • Improved sharing experience with auto-complete system
  • Landscape or portrait mode
  • Improved video playback
