Social networks are very important to gamers.
Nine in 10 have an account on Facebook and more than six in 10 have used YouTube, Google+ and Twitter, reveals a new study, with just 7 percent not using any social network at all.
In their survey of console and mobile gamers, GlobalWebIndex found that both groups are typically more active on social networks than general internet users. Facebook is the top platform overall, with 60 percent of console gamers and 40 percent of mobile gamers actively using that platform in the last month. Twitter ranks number two amongst console gamers for activity, while Chinese networks Sina Weibo and Tencent Weibo are notably popular with the mobile gamer demographic.
