‘FNS’ Bests ‘MTP’ in DC Market for First Time in 7 Years

CBS has been on a role recently when it comes to Sunday Show Ratings. Last week, “Face the Nation” was the top show nationally, besting ABC and NBC with 2.89 million viewers total.

But in the DC market, the picture is a little different. NBC’s “Meet the Press” is the traditional Sunday winner around these parts. But according to Nielsen Media Research, on Sunday, May 4 – the day many Washingtonians were recovering from the previous night’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner and festivities – “FOX News Sunday” was the most watched Sunday morning public affairs show in the Washington, DC market in total viewers.

This marks a very rare DC market win for “FOX News Sunday.” The last time it happened was seven years ago – on 11/4/2007, when Chris Wallace interviewed former President George H.W. Bush. It is also the program’s second triumph over NBC’s “Meet the Press” in the DC market in the past month (the other being 4/13/14).
