FLOTUS Guest Edits More’s July/August Issue

More Impact.

Flotus-MoreIn a first for the first lady and More magazine, Michelle Obama is the guest editor of the July/August issue of More, the magazine announced today.

For editor in chief Lesley Jane Seymour, this has been a “crazy dream” realized.

A little over a year ago, we started tossing around ideas about how we could collaborate with Mrs. Obama. At the time, having her serve as the first-ever guest editor of More seemed like a crazy dream, but it was at the top of my list. We knew that partnering on an issue would be a lot of work—I’m not sure the White House understood exactly how much!—but we were thrilled when they said yes.

Content for this issue, which has as its theme “More Impact,” revolves around the work the first lady has done during her time at the White House, like the “Let’s Move!” and “Let Girls Learn” campaigns. “I am excited and honored to be guest editor of MORE this month and tell you a little bit about the issues I’m working on, as well as the extraordinary Americans I’ve had the privilege of meeting as First Lady,” Obama said in the release.

The issue will be on newsstands June 23.
