A third party Google Voice compatible app was released and then pulled last year. It somewhat mysteriously (in terms of Apple’s approval process) reappeared in the iTunes App Store last week for $2.99. Its developer, Sean Kovacs, even dropped the price to zero briefly during the past weekend as a way of letting buyers of the original app “upgrade” to the new version.

Apple’s magnanimity towards Google Voice is apparently extending to an official Google Voice for iPhone app according to TechCrunch.
There’s apparently some amount of app massaging and iOS compatibility that needs to be done. But, TechCrunch believes that the official Google Voice iPhone app should be available from the iTunes App Store within a few weeks.
