David Gregory Is Heading to CNN

He'll be a political analyst.

David Gregory, the former Meet the Press host and longtime NBC newser, is joining CNN as a political analyst, according to a Politico report this morning.

Gregory, who starts today, will be spending most of his time at CNN on New Day, the weekly morning show on which Gregory has appeared recently, covering the Iowa Caucus for the show in February.

Gregory left NBC News in 2014 after he was replaced by Chuck Todd as MTP moderator. Gregory had held that role for six years. In the interim, he has written a book, How’s Your Faith? An Unlikely Spiritual Journey.

Gregory wasn’t the only pick up for the network this morning. It adds Angela Rye as a D.C.-based political commentator. She is currently principal and CEO at political consulting firm Impact Strategies and the former executive director and general counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus.
