Dada Entertainment, a joint venture of mobile social network maven Data USA and Sony BMG, has transformed its Dada.net site into a something called The Music Movement.
The newly redesigned site now bills itself as a music-oriented community and has added full-track MP3 downloads to its catalog of ringtones, wallpapers and mobile games.
Members who download the MP3s have the choice of having the tracks delivered to their phone or PC. Once a track has been downloaded, users can copy or transfer it to any mobile phone, iPod or other digital music player. For now, all the tunes come from Sony BMG’s catalog, but the company hopes to add music from other labels in the near future.
Content on the site is purchased by tokens – 15 of them cost $9.99 – with each song, ringtone, wallpaper or game generally costing one token. The service is open to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltel, Virgin, Cellular One, Boost and Cricket customers.
