A Grieving Granddaughter's Powerful Words

Charleston Post and Courier, other newspapers, banner the defiant declaration of a shooting victim's granddaughter.

Among the victims of the despicable Charleston shooting was 74-year-old retired pastor Reverend Daniel L. Simmons Sr. In the wake of his death at a local hospital, granddaughter Alana Simmons stated:

“Although my grandfather and the other victims died at the hands of hate … everyone’s plea for your soul is proof that they lived in love. Hate won’t win.”

Today, those last three words are bannered across a number of U.S. newspaper front pages. Words to mourn by; words to live by; words to take action by.
