"Budget Cuts Or Something?" -Morning Joe Guest Gov. Deval Patrick

According to weather.com, it feels about 15 degrees out today and probably even colder at 6am when MSNBC’s Morning Joe begins airing. Beautiful day to anchor for a few hours from the White House North Lawn!

Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski (wrapped in blankets) and Willie Geist were joined there by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, David Axelrod and various other guests. MSNBC also had White House correspondent Chuck Todd anchor an hour from that location later this morning.

In what they’re calling unprecedented access, Mika and Joe went inside for a tour by Gibbs, who joked about having Chuck moved back a few rows for his daily briefings. Scarborough called this segement “my favorite part of the show, where I’m not freezing like hell.” They even caught Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton eating pizza (or a hotdog) at 9 in the morning.

Geist also tours the “press pool,” as in the pool underneath the briefing room. He also signs the walls, a tradition of the Press Corps.
