Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and the world’s wealthiest person, is going to serve as The Verge’s guest editor in February. No pressure, Verge staffers.
In a note — Nilay Patel, The Verge’s co-founder and editor-in-chief — wrote that throughout the month, Gates will be narrating episodes of an animated series The Big Future, which lays out Gates’ ideas for how technology can improve the world over the next 15 years.
“We’ll also be publishing in-depth features examining how rapid change in health, farming, banking, and education might improve the lives of impoverished communities around the world,” explained Patel. “Gates is our guest editor, but we have promised his team that we’ll do serious independent journalism against these themes; we will present a complete picture of this future to you. It’s going to be exciting.”
