Dog Tag Bakery will be celebrating its grand opening at 10 AM tomorrow morning in Georgetown. The altruistic enterprise combines two things everybody should love, delicious baked goods and helping veterans.
Co-founded by Father Rick Curry and Constance Milstein after bonding over their love of baking, Dog Tag Bakery was created to help serve the nation’s veterans and their families. With its partnership with Georgetown University, the bakery is part of a work-study program that will allow more veterans to acquire the skills they need to build a successful civilian career.
CNN’s Jake Tapper will be serving as master of ceremonies for the event, while General George W. Casey Jr. (Ret.) and Army Sergeant Major Billie Jo Boersma are slated to say a few words as well.
The occasion will begin with the breaking of bread and a blessing over the bakery. Along with some tasty free samples, the event will feature live music, face painting for kids, and a visit from Uncle Sam.
