Ashton Kutcher in Trouble for Pro-Paterno Tweet

Ashton Kutcher tweeted the above before he learned about the child sex abuse scandal that was the reason for Paterno’s firing. And boy, is he sorry he did.

Twitter users quickly piled on Kutcher, who is an outspoken activist in the fight against the sexual exploitation of children. Kutcher quickly tweeted his remorse:

@Plusk: Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn’t have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes
@Plusk: Had no idea, thought it was a football thing.

As the angry tweets kept rolling in, Kutcher attempted to respond, agreeing with his critics that he should have learned all the facts before expressing an opinion to his over 8 million followers. The most embarrassing tweets were deleted, and Kutcher signed off, saying “As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won’t happen again.”
