This May, hundreds of social media enthusiasts will come together in San Francisco for the first Social Media Optimization Conference (SMOC), produced by SocialTimes and Mediabistro.
The aim of the conference is to teach marketers, strategists, PR and business leaders how to create organic user engagement on the social web, and best techniques for paid social advertising. Session topics include keyword intelligence, optimizing beyond “like” and “follow,” social video optimization, paid social, reputation management and social media, and more. The full program is here.
Allow us to introduce a small sampling of the speakers you’ll meet at SMOC (register soon if you haven’t — prices go up later this month):
Author of Engage and digital analyst, sociologist, and futurist, Solis has influenced the effects of emerging media on the convergence of marketing, communications, and publishing.
Ogilvy SVP and author of Personality Not Included, Bhargava is commonly recognized as the “father of SMO.” He introduced the concept on his blog in 2006 and posted the revised “5 New rules of SMO” exactly 4 years later in 2010.
A marketer, thinker, speaker, and connector, Walter spends her days as a Social Media Strategist for Intel, working at the intersection of high tech and integrated marketing. She is also a guest blogger for Mashable, Fast Compay AdWeed, and others.
As Chief Marketing Officer at Kenshoo, Goldman oversees search marketing and online advertising efforts for clients including Barnes and Noble, CareerBuilder, Facebook, Zappos, and more. He is also author of best-selling book Everything I know about Marketing I Learned from Google.
At Facebook, Fougner leads local ads product marketing, working on the market analysis that informs the product roadmap for brick-and-mortar advertisers. At SMOC, he’ll join the SMO to Go panel, discussing revenue opportunities where mobile and social meet.
TechCrunch and the Wall Street Journal recently called Wong the ‘youngest person to ever receive funding by a venture capital firm’ for kiip, his stealth startup focused on mobile in-game advertising, backed by True Ventures. He began his career by creating the world’s first categorized Twitter discovery tool: Followformation.com.
