Amazing Alex, Airport City and more on this week’s Android app charts

The top of the Android charts were once again dominated by apps we’ve seen in previous weeks, namely DeNA’s card-battle game Rage of Bahamut, which refuses to budge from the No. 1 spot in the list of top grossing chart. However, Rovio’s Amazing Alex made a respectable debut at the No. 11 spot in top paid chart, and we anticipate that it will continue to perform well in the coming weeks.

The game was last updated on June 29 with more prizes for players to collect and minor technical improvements. Airport City was installed more than one million times.

Minecraft – Pocket Edition – Coming in at the No. 15 spot is Mojang’s Minecraft – Pocket Edition, the mobile version of the hit indie game where players explore, mine, and build almost whatever they can imagine. The game is priced at $6.99.

The app is the only comics store and reader on Android devices with both Marvel Comics and DC Comics available to purchase along with smaller publishers like Dark Horse, Image, and Red 5. In the game, players can immerse themselves in the world of Ice Age, build their own distinctive village, share it with friends and play mini games featuring their favorite characters from the movie. This week’s top paid Android apps

Amazing Alex – We start off this week’s roundup of top paid Android apps with Rovio’s Amazing Alex which makes its debut at the No. 11 spot. Amazing Alex is Rovio’s first non-Angry Birds property since it took the world by storm and became the most successful mobile game of all time. In Amazing Alex, players help Alex solve physics-based puzzled by constructing Rube Goldberg-like machines. So far the game has not preformed as well on Android as it has on iOS, but that’s likely because of the slower to update algorithm Google uses to determine its charts. The app is priced at $0.99.

WeatherBug Elite – Earth Network’s WeatherBug Elite takes the No. 20 spot this week. The app allows users to get the latest current conditions, forecasts, radar animation and more.
