$99 Kobo Touch Debuts Today

Kobo announced today that their new ad-subsidized Kobo Touch eReader will be shipping on Monday, 28 November.

This eReader was first leaked a couple weeks back. At the time there was little information, other than the fact it would have ads. But now we now that the ads will be shown while the Kobo touch is in sleep mode, as well as at the bottom of the home screen (much like the ads on the Kindle).

It’s only available in the US, but it will be carried by Kobo’s retail partners: Target, Best Buy, and more. But you can get it now, if you like. According to the Target website, this eReader is currently in stock in some stores.

On a related note, Kobo is also selling a limited number of refurbished Kobo Wifi  eReaders starting on Black Friday. The price will be $59, and that’s not a bad price for an older model like this.
