With the exploding popularity of selfies (see: Ellen Degeneres at the Oscars), it's little wonder Teens React to Super Selfie was a top viral video last week. And it didn't hurt that the vid featured Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, the British teen actor who plays Arya Stark in the hit HBO show that's set to return next month.
Williams and her fellow teenagers were filmed while watching the dancing antics of YouTube sensation, Super Selfie, and her commentary showed why she is no stranger to Internet virality. Fans might recall that Williams was an early notable on the video-sharing site Vine, owned by Twitter.
Also last week, YouTube star Roman Atwood played an eyebrow-raising snake prank on beachgoers. And if you haven’t seen all the Oscar-nominated movies, then skip over No. 4, because it delivers on spoilers as promised.
The No. 1 most viewed Web series from Knife Guyz featured stunts you should not try at home. Lastly, the No. 3 Web is a real brainteaser, and worth the watch.
Note: Adweek’s VideoWatch Chart, powered by VidIQ, reveals the top 10 Web series videos on YouTube every week. The chart tracks more than just pure views; VidIQ incorporates sharing data from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, among other data sources, in an effort to measure true engagement. Every video is also ranked with VidIQ's proprietary score, which helps judge the likelihood of a video being promoted in YouTube Related Videos, Search and Recommended Videos. The ranking is also meant to capture "born-on-the-Web" YouTube content. Thus, material like clips from TV shows, movie trailers, video games and music videos are not included.
