Wolf Group Names Media Director

Wolf Group has hired Fallon media director Christine Mason as managing partner, media services director.

Mason, 37, who starts June 26, is charged with beefing up strategy in the shop’s media department, said Mike Rogers, the New York office’s president and executive creative director.

She will oversee the 10-person department and help lead To ronto-based Wolf Group’s New York office, Rogers said. She replaces Charlie Parlato, who left last month.

Rogers said he wants to create a media department that excels at nontraditional and new media and is “as good at strategy as the strategic planning group.

“She really has it in her DNA to think strategically, to be creative and nontraditional,” he said.

At Fallon in New York, Mason worked on Bottled Frappucino, a joint venture between Starbucks and Pepsi, as well as Time magazine.

Prior to that, she worked at the former Lowe Lintas & Partners in New York as svp, group media director on accounts that included Burger King and Viacom. Before that, she was vp, associate media director at TBWA\Chiat\Day, also New York, where she worked on accounts such as ABC.

Mason said she de cided to join Wolf Group because of the connection she made with agency management and the opportunity to be managing partner. “It was one of those situations where opportunity comes knocking at the door and knocks the door down,” she said.

Wolf Group’s New York office claims about $300 million in billings and has more than 80 staffers. Clients include Mott’s and Scotts Co.
