Based on the volume of help-wanted ads in Adweek, the market for jobs in advertising, marketing and media was healthier last month than it was a year earlier. This good news comes with an asterisk, though: March 2003 was a lousy month for hiring, coinciding with the onset of war in Iraq. Thus, it would be grim if the numbers had not improved this year. Still, March ’04 displays at least a nominal recovery from February, which seemed to show the job market lapsing back into its all-too-familiar coma.
