RNF Media Continues Its Growth Streak

RNF Media, one of the West Coast’s few remaining independent media agencies, recently landed a series of accounts totaling nearly $40 million in billings.
With the wins, president Brian Fernee and vice president Roger Riddell have seen their Beverly Hills, Calif., agency jump to $190 million in claimed billings.
The new business is a mix of general-market and dot-com advertisers in California, including iSignOnline, Tustin; Enforma Natural Products, Encino; and Pickard Sorrells Gourmet Peanut Butter, Irvine.
iSignOnline protects and encrypts signatures transmitted over the Internet. RNF, which will outsource creative, landed the account in May and plans to roll out a $5 million national branding campaign in August.
Enforma, meanwhile, distributes health and diet products such as Fat Trapper and Exercise in a Bottle. RNF will buy media in about 32 markets for the account, valued at $24 million. Creative is handled in-house. The national consumer campaign will include spot and cable TV and print ads in magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Woman’s World.
The Pickard Sorrels account is worth $10 million. That assignment includes a West Coast launch that began with spot TV in May and may be followed by a national campaign in the fall, Fernee said.
The wins offset decreased revenues for the shop as a result of the loss of its estimated $20 million California Jeep Dealers Association and $20 million Shopping.com accounts.
“We have had a lot of dot-coms and now, to balance it out, we’re adding consumer products. This year has been our largest [revenue] jump ever,” said Fernee.
The company announced seven other wins earlier this year, including online companies eHealthInsurance, eHomes, LuckySurf, the BigHub and the BigStore, as well as the Grand Victoria Hotel & Casino near Chicago and Ruidoso Downs Racetrack & Casino in New Mexico. K
