Peppercom Notches German Win

BOSTON Independent Peppercom has been tapped for corporate communications in North America by German consumer products company Henkel. The agency has been tasked with media relations, corporate positioning and crisis communications.

The New York shop’s primary mission is to create awareness of the company among businesses, according to Steven Cody, Peppercom managing partner and co-founder.

The agency has been tasked with media relations, corporate positioning and crisis communications.

The business was won without a formal review; fees were not disclosed.

“We selected Peppercom based on their knowledge of the U.S. media markets and their experience in helping reposition blue-chip corporations,” said Pattie Jacobus, vice president of corporate communications for Henkel in North America.

Henkel KGaA of Dusseldorf, Germany, owns the Henkel Group. The company’s offerings include Duck brand tape, personal care products DEP and L.A. Looks and Schwarzkopf brands.

Cody said the win is significant for the midsize agency since it comes on the heels of two other victories: British Telecom and Ricoh Corp.

In addition to its New York location, Peppercom maintains offices in London, San Francisco and Chicago.
