Organic Media Chief to Depart

NEW YORK Heidi Browning, Organic’s executive media director, is leaving the agency.

Browning, 38, has been with Organic for the past six years, heading its media operations. She is leaving to pursue other career opportunities outside the agency business, the agency said.

“It’s going to be hard to imagine Organic without her,” said Quentin George, managing director of Organic’s San Francisco office. “She’s done a fantastic job of helping build Organic.”

Separately, the San Francisco-based Omnicom Group Web shop said Jinenne Sutherland and Tim Armitage have joined the agency as group director of media and group strategy director, respectively.

Sutherland, 36, comes to Organic from Mediasmith, where she was a media director since 2003, working on both full-service and interactive accounts. Prior to joining Mediasmith, she worked at Lot21, Publicis Technology and RKR. Organic handles the online media accounts of 20th Century Fox, Washington Mutual and Sprint.

Armitage, 42, joins Organic from operating his own Los Angeles-based strategic consulting firm, Pitch, which advised clients like Genex, Comcast and BIG Interactive. Before founding Pitch in 2003, Armitage was the West Coast brand strategy lead at Razorfish.

Sutherland and Armitage will report to George.
