Neall to Rejoin JWT as Top Exec on Ford

DETROIT Sean Neall is returning to J. Walter Thompson to head the Ford Motor Co. account. He replaces Mike O’Malley, who left the position Monday after meeting with ceo Peter Schweitzer [Adweek.com, March 3].

Neall, 51, takes the post of executive vice president, global business director on Ford, and will be based in Detroit, reporting to Schweitzer. He previously spent 13 years in account management positions at the agency from 1984 to 1997. His last position, which he held from 1994 to 1997, was senior partner, executive management director on Ford Division in the U.S.

Since 2000, Neall has been vice president of European operations and global account management for Urban Science Applications Inc., a global channel management consulting firm specializing in the automotive industry. Between 1997 and 2000, Neall served as client services director on Ford of Europe at Ogilvy & Mather.

During his previous tenure at JWT, Neall worked closely with Steve Lyons, who is now the president of Ford Division.
