Mediaedge:cia Names Broadcast Director

NEW YORK WPP Group’s Mediaedge:cia said it has enlisted Gibbs Haljun as managing partner and director of broadcast.

Haljun succeeds Fred Dubin, who earlier this week was named managing partner and director of entertainment marketing and promotions, a new post at New York-based Mediaedge:cia.

Haljun joins Mediaedge:cia from Publicis Groupe’s MediaVest, where he served eight years, most recently as a vp and group director, responsible for crafting upfront strategy and oversight of national broadcast budgets for more than 80 brands.

Among his key clients at MediaVest were Procter & Gamble and Kraft.

Haljun reports to chief investment officer Rino Scanzoni, and will develop and implement broadcast strategy for clients such as Scott’s Lawn, Wrangler Jeans, PetsMart and Xerox.

“Gibbs Haljun is one of the industry’s most experienced, creative and successful broadcast negotiators,” Scanzoni said.

Prior to joining MediaVest in January 1997, Haljun oversaw national advertising sales for Madison Green Entertainment, a seller of ad time in syndication programming.

Before that he was a media buyer at Bohbot Communications, a specialist in children’s syndication programming.
