Liz Ross has left Publicis Groupe’s Digitas to take on the new role of North American CEO at Interpublic Group’s Mediabrands Ventures, the unit that oversees a number of the holding company’s media specialists, including Geomentum (local), Reprise Media (search and social) and Velociter (retail).
At Digitas, which she joined in 2009, Ross was chief growth officer. Previously, she was president of U.S. operations at Tribal DDB. The move reunites Ross with Matt Freeman, global CEO at Mediabrands Ventures, to whom she will report. The pair worked together at Tribal DDB.
Ross is tasked with expanding the unit’s North American operations through the three-pronged approach of acquisitions, creating new offerings from scratch and modifying others, the firm said.
This is the latest of several high-profile management moves at companies under the Mediabrands umbrella. Last month, Sean Finnegan, formerly the top digital veteran at Publicis’ Starcom MediaVest Group, joined Momentum as CEO. In September, Bant Breen was tapped as global CEO of Reprise. Both report to Freeman.
Last week, Matt Seiler was appointed the new CEO of Mediabrands, parent of the Ventures unit, which also oversees IPG’s media agency networks Universal McCann and Initiative. Prior to that, Seiler had been global CEO at UM.
