Lowe’s Seeks PR Shop

BOSTON Lowe’s Companies has initiated a search for a new public relations agency, the client confirmed.

“We are reviewing agencies right now,” said company representative Chris Ahearn, who would not give further details regarding why the search was initiated.

Incumbent Golin/Harris International, the Interpublic Group shop in Chicago that has worked on the client’s PR chores for five years, is not participating in the review, said Ahearn.

Neither a fees structure nor a review timeline was immediately disclosed.

Last year, Mooresville, N.C.-based Lowe’s spent about $300 million on advertising, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Lowe’s is the No. 2 U.S. home improvement products and supplies store behind Home Depot, according to Hoover’s Online. The chain operates more than 930 retail locations in 45 states.
