Shop’s Skyy Link Helps Land Scots Whisky
LOS ANGELES-Lambesis has expanded its liquor cabinet with the recent addition Cutty Sark Original Scots Whisky. Billings for this year are $3-5 million, according to industry estimates.
The Del Mar, Calif., agency picked up the whisky icon’s account without a review, according to executive creative director Chad Farmer. Cutty Sark recently appointed Skyy Spirits as exclusive distributor for its entire Scotch portfolio. Lambesis has handled advertising for the company’s Skyy Vodka brand since last year.
“We’re out to reconnect this brand with American consumers who have been estranged from blended scotch in recent years,” said Skyy Spirits chief operating officer Keith Greggor. “We are excited about Lambesis’ unique understanding of the consumer and our opportunity to unlock Cutty Sark’s enormous equity.”
The agency assisted Skyy in developing a positioning platform for the brand during negotiations with Cutty Sark International, said Farmer. The shop is currently working on a national traditional consumer and point-of-sale branding campaign, scheduled to break this fall.
There was no recent incumbent on the business. Previous work had been handled by Lois/EJL’s Los Angeles office, which closed its doors last fall.
