JWT Looks for New Detroit Creative Chief

DETROIT — J. Walter Thompson Detroit has launched a search for a new executive creative director to replace Bruce Rooke, who is joining Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer & Associates in Columbus, Ohio.

Rooke joined JWT Detroit in 1985 and has overseen creative work for the agency’s cornerstone Ford Motor Co. creative business since August 1997.

During a press event earlier this month, Ford Division marketing communications manager Rich Stoddart praised Rooke and recent work from the agency, including the “Ford on Ford” ads featuring Bill Ford.

JWT Detroit’s current group creative directors will work in tandem with senior creative director Michael Priebe to oversee the agency’s creative department, said Mike O’Malley, JWT Detroit president, in a statement. The search for a new ecd is underway and an appointment will be made in the coming weeks, he said.
