Interactive TV Firm Hires HP Ad Exec

NEW YORK Ensequence, a Portland, Ore.-based interactive television firm, named a former Hewlett-Packard advertising executive to lead its newly formed client services group.

Michele Bogan, most recently director of worldwide consumer advertising at HP, will lead a team that works with advertisers and agencies to develop iTV campaigns.

At HP, Bogan worked with Ensequence to broadcast an iTV campaign in the United Kingdom and United States as part of its “Picture Book” campaign for its digital photography products.

Bogan, 35, is an ad agency veteran. Before joining HP, she worked at Publicis & Hal Riney in San Francisco, where she was a senior vice president on the HP account. Bogan had a seven-year stint at Ogilvy & Mather, leading the Kodak account there. She was an account executive at BBDO in Los Angeles from 1994 to 1996.

The iTV market is just beginning in the U.S. HP’s iTV push in the U.S. last year is thought to be the first to run in this market on the Dish Network. It allowed users to click through a Francois Vogel-directed “HP + You” commercial to long-form content, where they could redeem a coupon, see digital photography products or watch longer versions of the Vogel spots.
