Despite constant media exposure, environmentally conscious lifestyle changes are slow to take root on Main Street, according to a Harris Interactive online poll of 2,602 adults conducted in May.

“The most surprising thing is how little people have done to change their lifestyles,” said Regina Corso, director of the Harris Poll, New York. “How many stories have you seen on television about changing lightbulbs to compact fluorescents? Yet only about 4 percent have actually done it.
