Doner Picks Up Kwikset, Price Pfister

LOS ANGELES Following a review, Doner has won the accounts of two brands from Black & Decker’s Hardware and Home Improvement Group, Kwikset locks and Price Pfister faucets.

The client would not disclose billings, but spent $600,000 on Kwikset and $700,000 on Price Pfister last year, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

Tim Blett, president of independent Doner, Newport Beach, Calif., said he expects Black & Decker, Lake Forest, Calif., to “substantially” increase its marketing. “We anticipate the required resources to grow the brands enough to meet their increasing sales goals,” Blett said.

Both brands had been handled in-house, and Blett said Doner will continue to work with B&D’s internal graphics department. “You’ll see a sea change in how they go to market,” he added.

Doner picked up both creative and media buying duties, and Blett predicted an “even spread” among television, print and interactive. “With our home experience and their desire to accelerate these brands, we are a natural match,” he said.

Doner also handles creative for ADT, DuPont, Lazy Boy, HGTV and Dutch Boy, among other clients.
