Corey Mitchell, the managing director of MRM Worldwide New York, is leaving the Interpublic agency in mid-February.
Bill Kolb, the agency’s worldwide chief operating officer, will assume responsibility for the office, sources said.
Kolb did not return calls for comment, and an MRM spokesperson could not be reached.
The change is the latest at the McCann Worldgroup digital and direct agency. In September, Mark Landsberg joined MRM as chief executive, replacing Reuben Hendell, who left the agency after six years. Landsberg is a former associate of Worldgroup chief Nick Brien, dating back to their days at Leo Burnett, where Landsberg worked as director of corporate strategy and development and as global president of Burnett affiliate Arc Worldwide.
Mitchell, who before MRM was president of the New York office of TBWA\Chiat\Day, confirmed the change and said he is still considering his future options, which might include a client-side role.
He said of his two and a half years at MRM: “There are multiple disciplines, languages and skills that I’ve picked up and to orchestrate all of those in broader array for a brand is what I’ll be applying and look forward to applying” in the future.
