Independent Cramer-Krasselt has promoted Karen Seamen to chief operating officer, a new position.
With the promotion, Seamen, 53, assumes day-to-day responsibility for C-K’s offices in Chicago, Milwaukee, New York and Phoenix.
Seaman has been with C-K for 21 year. Most recently she was general manager of the shop’s Chicago HQ, a role to which was promoted four years ago. She will retain those duties while taking on the agency-wide COO responsibilities.
Seaman has been instrumental in the shop’s 50 percent growth over the last five years. In that time, it has added accounts such as Porsche Cars North America (where the media assignment recently went into review), Heinz, Edward Jones, Sealy and Crocs.
The shop currently reports annual billings of nearly $1 billion.
Seamen has played a key role in the development and evolution of the agency’s integrated model spanning advertising, media, interactive, engagement strategies, direct and public relations, and related organizational and financial systems.
“While the title of chief operating officer is new to C-K, Karen has increasingly served in that role,” said Peter Krivkovich, C-K’s president and chief executive officer, to whom Seaman reports. “It will be Karen’s responsibility to promote collaboration across the four offices and help evolve the agency, ensuring we have the right mix of integrated capabilities and business-transforming processes to set C-K apart.”
