Branigan Moves Up to CEO at Landor

SAN FRANCISCO Landor Associates said it is promoting Craig Branigan to chief executive officer next month and adding chairman to his title in 2004.

Branigan, 51, is currently chief operating officer and president of the brand strategy firm.

Clay Timon, the current chairman and CEO, will step down from the chief executive post on May 1, but will retain the title of chairman through 2003 to ensure a smooth transition to what the San Francisco-based firm said was a long-standing succession plan. Timon, 59, has led Landor since 1993.

“This is an exciting day for Landor as we execute a plan that has been carefully anticipated since Craig was hired in 1996,” Timon said. “He is the right person to lead Landor to the next phase of its growth—he will build on the company’s commitment to helping clients transform their businesses through disciplined brand strategy and powerful design.”

Landor Associates, a division of Young & Rubicam, is a global brand strategy and design consultancy that was founded in 1941. Clients include Pfizer, Ford, Frito-Lay, Federal Express and Microsoft.
