AOL, GMC Prep Web Shows

NEW YORK AOL has forged a partnership with GMC to launch three original series on its Living Channel, each of which will feature GMC vehicles within program content.

The three series are: Cooking With Tyler Florence, featuring the celebrity chef and author preparing specialty meals; Home Entertaining With Michele and Gia, starring two personalities from the Fine Living network dispensing party-planning advice; and Home Improvement With Eric Stromer, featuring the author and HGTV host providing tips on home repairs.

AOL is planning to offer a total of 78 three- to five-minute episodes of the shows for viewers to stream on demand.

In addition, GMC has produced 20 companion video clips that will live alongside the new Web shows. Called Trade Secrets, these vignettes feature GMC experts doling out professional and lifestyle advice for car owners.

As part of an advertising and product placement deal that was orchestrated by Time Warner Global Media Group, GMC will feature the Yukon, Acadia and Sierra models within the cooking, entertaining and home improvement series, respectively. Plus, each series incorporates pre-roll GMC video spots as well as banner placements.

Besides offering the new lifestyle fare on the Web, AOL said it would offer users a variety of mobile viewing options. Each video segment will be available in condensed form through audio podcasts and on mobile phones.
