Aegis Media has named Nigel Morris CEO of Aegis Media North America. He succeeds Sarah Fay, who is leaving the group after 11 years in senior management positions.
The last 18 months has been particularly tough, as the domestic division lost Hyundai/Kia and New Line Studios, among others.
Morris (pictured) moves up from CEO of Aegis’ digital agency network Isobar. Mark Cranmer is filling that post.
In their new roles, Morris remains a member of the Aegis Media global executive committee, which Cranmer will join. Both appointments are effective immediately.
Morris has been CEO of Isobar since it was founded in 2003. Under his leadership, Isobar has grown to 29 percent of Aegis Media’s revenue in 2008. Morris also leads sustainability initiatives globally for Aegis Group.
In his new role, Morris will have responsibility for all Aegis Media businesses in the U.S. and Canada, including Carat, Vizeum, Aegis Media Canada (Carat Canada, Mindblossom and Genesis Vizeum), Copernicus, Velocity Sports and Entertainment, Vivid Marketing, Posterscope USA (the Brand Experience and Hyperspace) and Isobar units Freestyle Interactive, Ammo Marketing, iProspect, Range and Molecular.
Cranmer is a 30-year industry veteran. He was CEO of Starcom MediaVest’s EMEA region and a board director of Publicis Groupe Media Worldwide until 2006. Earlier in his career, he was part of the Bartle Bogle Hegarty senior management team, a founder of Motive and a member of the board that created the global Starcom media network.
Jerry Buhlmann, CEO of Aegis Media, said in statement: “These changes are an important reinforcement of our top management team. Nigel is a renowned visionary who brings proven experience of leadership and transformation to the largest advertising market in the world. Mark is a hugely experienced senior player in our industry. He has helped shape the modern agency business and is rightly hailed as an iconic and original thinker.”
Fay joined Aegis Media in 1998. She led the creation of Carat Interactive in 2001, and was named CEO of Isobar U.S. in 2003. In 2007, she additionally became CEO of Carat’s U.S. operations. Fay was named CEO of Aegis Media North America in April 2008.
