Judging by the volume of help-wanted classifieds running in Adweek, there’s no need for us to rush in writing that comeback story. Does this November look bad because last November was so good? No such luck. The white-on-red heading a year ago for the article on November 2000’s help-wanted linage was “In a Nosedive,” as the U.S. total had fallen 26 percent versus November 1999. From the dismal vantage point of the current market, a mere 26 percent decline would seem like something to celebrate.
