4A’s Names Finalists for Account Planning Awards

NEW YORK The American Association of Advertising Agencies today named 11 agencies as finalists for its 2003 Account Planning Awards.

Three shops picked up two nominations each: Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami for its Mini and Molson accounts; Leo Burnett in Chicago for its Toys R Us and Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain accounts; and The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., for its UPS and Vanilla Coke accounts.

The other nominees are Arnold in Boston for Volkswagen; Bartle Bogle Hegarty in New York for ING Direct; BBDO in Chicago for Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company’s Orbit gum; DDB in Chicago for its Library of Congress/Ad Council account; LBWorks in Chicago for Heidelberg; McKinney + Silver in Raleigh, N.C., for First Citizen’s Bank; TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York for Cadbury Canada’s Caramilk; and J. Walter Thompson in New York for Novell.

Finalist judging takes place this Sunday. Gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced on Sept. 10 at the 4A’s Account Planning Conference in Boca Raton, Fla.

The APG-U.S., which administered the Account Planning Awards in past years, has become a part of the 4A’s.
